Finding a club or a coach can be quite challenging unless you know where to look, here is a very good place to start!
When it comes down to it, being involved in one of the many organized programs across the country, can make all the difference. Working with a coach and other riders for an extended period of time, during which you all get to know each other, develop close relationships, foster a greater comfort level within your sport and a more progressive mindset.
It is important to work with a program that will fit your individual needs, one that is above all else, going to help instill a core set of values that will enable you to stay dedicated to your hopes and dreams, what ever they may be!
So if your looking for a program, go find one. Listed on this page are certified clubs and programs that work closely with our series and that I believe can provide the best opportunity for you.
Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club www.sswsc.org/snowboard
With over 130 athletes and 20 coaches, the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Snowboard Team is one of the largest programs in the US. There are 8 SSWSC riders currently on the US Snowboard Team and 4 of our riders are members of the USASA PacSun Team. The focus of our program is safe, fun skill development that encourages a passion for the mountains, comaraderie and a love of the sport.
Our team took home 23 medals at the 2009 USASA National Championships and put riders on podiums across the world last winter.
We have full-time training programs for all levels of competition in every discipline. The team rides the world class terrain at the Steamboat Ski Resort as our primary training ground. With almost 3000 acres of riding and a park/pipe setup with its own dedicated lift, we have some of the best training terrain in North America. We also have our own terrain park and SBX training track at Howelsen Hill in downtown Steamboat. Combine that with a private weight room, video review facilities, indoor trampolines, a community that embraces its winter athletes and you get the perfect environment to help you reach your goals in snowboarding. In addition to our full-time programs, we also offer drop-in, part-time and travel/event support packages.
