Back Yard Bang in D Town

byb_denver_thumbKick off the winter season with the 1st annual Denver Backyard Bang Rail Jam, a grassroots snowboarding competition held Saturday, November 21, 2009 from 11 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at The Art Institute of Colorado at 1200 Lincoln Street in downtown Denver.

Hosted by Salomon Snowboards and The Art Institute of Colorado, the homegrown rail jam brings the best up and coming pros and amateurs from the Rocky Mountain region and beyond to compete in the heart of Denver’s Golden Triangle District.

The top pro and amateur snowboarders from Colorado will be competing in the rail jam. The jam kicks off with practice at 11 a.m., followed by the first of three heats at noon.

The event is free, open to the public and will include food, refreshments and a wide range of entertainment options. Games, giveaways, autograph signing with pro riders and a DJ booth will all be a part of the day’s activities.

Visit the John Jellico Gallery at The Art Institute of Colorado during the event to browse one-of-a-kind snowboards, all individually designed by Art Institute of Colorado students, alumni and potential students as part of a selective design competition. Over 30 designed snowboards will be on display in the gallery.

"The USASA is what Never Summer is all about. Young riders striving to be the best they can be against heavy competition - showing the rest of the country how Colorado always rolls deep. We are stoked to sponsor this great, long running series and support the up and coming riders of the Rocky Mountains." Mike Gagliardi, Never Summer Snowboards Sales Manager

"Gag's" has been around for a very long time and Never Summer’s reputation of quality and durability began in the early years of snowboarding.   They have generously stepped up to ensure that you're all gonna be pumped with the decks that we've got to give away at our end of day Rocky Mountain Series raffles.  Never Summer will be at all of the local resorts this season, including Copper November 21st & 22nd, with on snow demos of thier handcrafted, Colorado built shred sticks.

Stop by their tent and say hello, show them some love for backing our play, and take out one of thier decks for a spin, you'll be glad that you did!
