groms The action on the hill today was fast an furious as riders from all age classes competed in both GS & SL alpine races to not only improve thier regional standings and national rankings but for a chance to win the hottest and most coveted trophy in snowboarding today, the Cholua Hot Lap of the Day.

In the end, the grom's were shut out by the efforts of Aaron "AJ" Muss who put down a smok'n hot combined GS time of 61.51 seconds to take home the Cholua Hot Lap of the Day and the $50 PacSun Gift Certificate! To register to train on the home of the Cholula Hot Lap - Vein Glory SBX / SX track ! For the 2nd year in a row the boardercross course will be fully staffed and ready for your enjoyment and if you've made it to the USASA Nationals, some pre-nats training on April 1st & 2nd, 2010

There will be NO ONSITE REGISTRATION for the training sessions, you MUST REGISTER ONLINE. Space is limited, we sold out the sessions last year, so register early to avoid disappointment. A full day lift ticket is included in the training session so you can get right on the hill after checking in (mandatory check in required at the Event Registration Office)

A training bib will be required to gain access to the course just like last year and will be available for pickup along with your lift ticket the morning of the training session at the Event Registration Office, located on the lower level of Copper One directly adjacent to the main ticket windows.

Training bibs must be turned in after the session.

Coaches must have a valid & current USASA credential in order to gain access to the venue. Certified USASA Coaches participating in the training sessions will be provided with daily comp lift tickets. Helmets are required to be worn by all coaches.

The boardercross course is located on Vein Glory riders left of the Catalyst Terrain Park. Lift access via the American Flyer or High Point lifts.

Scalded Monkeys

Just imagine that you threw a bucket of hot water on pack of monkeys that where pretty amped up to begin with, total chaos! Thats pretty much sums up this weekend's Breaker Boys boardercross racing! This class is by far one of the most competitive on the mountain! We needed a race off to set the field into heats, which was followed by the tightest racing I have witnessed in quite some time on the very demanding USASA Nationals Vein Glory SBX course. Right out of the gate, the riders were packed tightly, like they were velcro'd together and by all acounts from the course officials they stayed that way all the way down the track. Pretty amazing stuff considering this crew isn't even old enough to race at a Noram SBX event and would have all qualified handily!

Carter Smalley (pictured above) set the time trial mark high, with a 54.49 second run and with it, was declared the winner of the Cholula Hot Lap of the Day winning not only the coolest trophy in snowboarding but also a $50 PacSun Gift Certificate. Although Carter qualified with the days fastest Breaker Boys time, the rest of the monkeys were not going to let him rest and he ended up 5th on the day!
